Have you tried Linda Sue Park's Newbery Trivia Quiz? It's hard!  I got a whopping 2 out of 15.  I took the Who Am I quiz and did a little better -- that is, if you count answers like, "that kid in Holes," as correct.  Try both quizzes yourself and see if you can do better.

Sudoku is all the rage here in the Washington, D.C. area  Imagine a bunch of people riding the metro to work in the morning, heads bent, pencils poised, puzzling over logic puzzles.  There's hope for the world yet!  I like Websudoku.com.  I did puzzle # 3,214,349,840 in 17 minutes and 25 seconds.  How'd you do?

My niece Kristen, a high school freshman, wrote to say that she did the same Sudoku puzzle in 6 minutes 17 seconds.  Do you realize this is about a third of the time it took me?  This is humiliating!  And to make it worse, she uses a screen name that belittles her own intelligence!

I am not going to let this get me down.  I am going to master this Sudoku thing.  I don't care what it takes.  I will work and work and work until I can beat Kristen's time.  We're talking Sudoku bootcamp here.  I'm going to master the easy level.  Then I'll tackle the medium level.  After that, the hard level, until finally, I will attempt...
